Wilson Golf’s Staff Model X was the most accurate golf ball in MyGolfSpy’s extensive 2026 Golf Ball Test, while also establishing itself as one of the longest models tested.
Staff Model X produced the tightest overall dispersion pattern of any model in the test, with its dispersion area less than 10 yards either side of the centre line. By comparison, the least accurate ball tested produced a dispersion area extending more than 30 yards in either direction.
Staff Model X also ranked fifth for driver distance among all 48 golf balls tested, highlighting its ability to combine outstanding directional consistency with the speed and distance golfers demand.
The impressive performance was reinforced across the different test conditions. Staff Model X featured among the leading balls for driver speed at the highest tested swing speed and was the fastest ball at the lowest tested driver swing speed.
The Staff Model ball also performed strongly, with both models finishing level as the fastest golf balls during the high-speed 7-iron test. Staff Model was additionally selected as one of MyGolfSpy’s leading mid-spin recommendations at both high and mid-iron swing speeds.
Widely recognised for its independent, data-led approach to equipment testing, MyGolfSpy’s 2026 Golf Ball Test involved more than 80 hours of testing. A total of 48 models were tested with drivers and 7-irons at three swing speeds, alongside 35-yard greenside shots and 100-yard wedge testing in wet and dry conditions.
These independent findings arrive as Wilson Golf maintains significant commercial growth. Compared to the previous year-to-date, sales are up 34% in 2026, while the Staff Model franchise has experienced a remarkable 324% increase over the equivalent period in 2022.
