To mark National School Sports Week (16–22 June), the Golf Foundation visited Upton St Leonards Primary School - one of 42 schools across England, Scotland and Wales taking part in Unleash Your Drive in Schools, a pilot programme designed to link schools with local golf clubs.

The BGIA is proud to have partnered with the Golf Foundation to fund its biggest-ever investment in growing the game at grassroots level. This initiative supports the transition of pupils from school to golf club, offering a first taste of the game in a fun and inclusive setting.

The Golf Foundation highlighted its recent impact in schools and acknowledged the BGIA’s role in bringing more young players into the sport.

Please help spread the news about this important work on your social media channels, tag the BGIA and use the hashtag #UnleashYourDrive.

“This is exactly the kind of experience that can spark a lifelong interest in golf. We know that when young children are given the chance to pick up a club and have fun in a supportive environment, they quickly discover how rewarding and enjoyable the game can be. It’s fantastic to see so many pupils taking part, and we’re proud to support this initiative which gives children such a positive and joyful first step into golf.”
