As part of Titleist’s ongoing commitment to supporting TGI Partners across the UK, the brand has introduced a new role focused on maintaining and strengthening these valuable partnerships.

Matthew Allanson, who has been with the brand since 2020 and most recently served as Area Sales Manager for the South-Central region, will step into this new position. Over the past few years, he has established strong relationships and gained valuable experience, which he now leverages in his new role to serve Titleist partners best.

Q&A, Matthew Allanson, Titleist Partnership Manager

Tell us a bit about your background and how you started working in the golf industry?

“My coach and mentor, the late Andrew Hall, was one of the first Titleist Staff Ambassadors who instilled in me a passion for coaching and being a consummate club professional. I undertook my PGA training at Sand Martins Golf Club in Berkshire, which led me to a five-year stint in Dubai at Al Badia Golf Club and The European Tour Performance Institute at Jumeirah Golf Estates. I returned to the UK in 2018 as Head Professional at Sand Martins Golf Club; however, once an opportunity arose to join Titleist, I seized it with both hands. Having worked on the other side of the counter for 17 years, from Private Members’ Clubs, Municipal Courses and stand-alone academies, I developed an affinity with brands such as Titleist, which resulted in forming great relationships as an Area Sales Manager for the South-Central region.”

Why were Titleist looking for a Partnerships Manager and what does the role entail?

“Our relationship with the PGA Professional continues to be at the core of our fundamentals. We would not be able to celebrate our leadership position in the marketplace without the endless contributions our trade partners have made to the Titleist brand. My role is to foster meaningful, lasting relationships with those partners, going beyond transactional interactions to deepen the warmth and trust that are hallmarks of our heritage. By working closely with our ambassador network, key industry stakeholders and providing support to the Sales team, I aim to establish long-term partnerships that benefit both Titleist and our TGI Partners.”

What aspects of the position interested and excited you?

“Having the opportunity to help shape a future rooted in mutual respect and shared goals, ensuring our partners feel valued and appreciated is my ideal job description.”

How do you see the position evolving in the future?

“The golfing landscape has undergone significant changes over the last five years and we are continually learning about new businesses operating in the industry. I want to provide a platform for Partners to offer feedback on how we, as a brand, can collaborate to support them and the dedicated golfer more effectively. Putting myself back into the shoes of the PGA Professional, I think it’s exciting to have an opportunity to shape the future of our partnerships and evolve them even further to deliver value for their businesses.”
