TGI Golf was celebrating this week as Managing Director Adele McLean walked away from the annual Women in Golf Awards with the evening’s top award.
Adele, who took over as MD in April this year, was presented the Inspirational Achievement award at the event staged at Foxhills in recognition of her decades of service to the golf industry.
Now in its third year, the awards, which is supported by the British Golf Industry Association (BGIA) showcases the work of women from across all sectors of the industry and provides an important platform that inspires more women to consider a career in golf.
Adele said: “It was a complete shock to be presented with this award and I am incredibly honoured.
“The golf industry today is full of inspirational women doing great jobs in a variety of sectors. Just looking around the room and hearing from all the award winners there are many inspirational stories and achievements.
“It goes without saying that this award is dedicated to the entire team at TGI Golf, who are totally dedicated to helping our PGA Professional Partners to enhance their businesses.”
Awards founder Nicole Wheatley, who presented Adele with her award, said: “This year, nearly two decades after joining TGI Golf, Adele McLean accepted the role of Managing Director and looks to continue building on the success TGI Golf has enjoyed over the last 40 years.
“Her journey from the driving range to heading up the UK & Ireland’s leading golf retail services business is nothing short of inspirational. Her appointment was celebrated far and wide by women and men across the industry who recognised the incredible impact she has had on the business and demonstrates to other women what can be achieved when there are no glass ceilings.”
