A familiar face will be joining the team at Head Office in the New Year as we welcome former Chairman Gordon Stewart back in to the TGI Golf Family.

Gordon, formerly PGA Professional at Cawder Golf Club, Glasgow for 17 years before his retirement last month, will join the staff at Head Office as Supplier Relationship Manager on January 3rd.

With current Managing Director Eddie Reid standing down at the end of March 2024 the structure of the team at head office will be undergoing a reshuffle with Group Services Director Adele McLean taking on the role as MD.

That movement has already started with Chris Todd moving into the role of Group Services Manager, taking care of everything TGI Golf offers to Partners. While Chris Taylor will take on a more senior Retail Consultant role in January, overseeing the team on the road.

Eddie Reid, said: “Over the years Adele’s role as Group Services Director has grown significantly and as she steps into the MD’s chair it is the right time to move things around a little, as such her role won’t be directly replaced. This restructure has created some new roles and opportunities within the company.

“This reshuffle has created the new role of Supplier Relationship Manager and with Gordon retiring as a PGA Professional and looking for a change of direction, he has real credible and relevant experience of dealing with partner suppliers from a PGA pro and TGI Partner perspective which will be key in developing our partnership opportunities. It is the perfect time to bring him in.”

Gordon became a TGI Golf Partner in 1999 and sat on the board of directors for more than 15 years, where he was chairman for three.

He said: “Having been involved for such a long time, initially as a Director with Ian Johnston’s Tartan Golf International, subsequently followed by being a Director and Chairman with Eddie Reid’s TGI Golf Partnership, I have become both passionate and proud of what we do as a group.

“As I move forward into the next chapter of my career, it is really exciting for me, to be part of Adele McLean’s next generation of our company.

“Working alongside the fantastic team at TGI Head Office, I will look to be able to share that passion and continue developing strong relationships with our suppliers and enhance the service and opportunities back to our Partners”.

Adele McLean, who takes over as Managing Director on April 1, 2024, added: “Having worked alongside Gordon for many years, both at TGI Golf and before when we both worked at the Normandy Driving Range, I know he is the perfect man for this role.

“He is already well known to all our Partner Suppliers and is a popular figure among the staff at Head Office. He will bring a wealth of knowledge to the role and will be a major asset for the team moving forward.”
