Under Armour is advancing the next chapter of golf performance footwear with the introduction of its Drive Pro Clone.

Designed to help golfers move more naturally and play with greater confidence through changing conditions, the Drive Pro Clone has been developed to address a longstanding challenge in golf footwear: traditional designs often struggle to match the natural shape and movement of a golfer’s foot, restricting comfort and ultimately having a negative effect on a player’s level of performance.

Fixed constructions can limit how well a shoe conforms during the swing, which can affect overall fit and consistency on the course. The Drive Pro Clone introduces an adaptive solution built to move with the golfer and deliver a custom-fit for your foot.

“Traditional golf shoes create gaps, pressure points and lost power because they are built around a single, fixed shape,” said Jake Haley, Senior Manager of Golf Footwear and Apparel at Under Armour. “With the Drive Pro Clone, we set out to eliminate those compromises entirely. Every golfer deserves a shoe that adapts to them, not the other way around, and this design gives athletes a truly personalised fit that stays consistent from the first swing to the last.”

At the centre of the shoe’s innovation is the proprietary auxetic Clone upper, a material that behaves less like static fabric and more like a dynamic surface. By expanding, contracting and shaping itself to the unique geometry of the foot, Clone creates an adaptive fit that remains consistent throughout a full round, regardless of fatigue, terrain or conditions.

“Clone adapts to the shape and movement of your foot, helping maintain the same level of support from your first swing to your last,” said Kyle Blakely, SVP of Innovation and Design Studio at Under Armour. “Because the material behaves like a dynamic surface rather than a traditional textile or leather, athletes get a more consistent fit, better energy transfer and a more stable platform throughout the entire round.”

When paired with Under Armour’s Swing Support System, Drive Pro Clone unlocks more repeatable power, giving golfers confidence on every swing.

This innovation in golf footwear underscores Under Armour’s commitment to solving golfers’ needs through material science, design precision and course-tested performance.

The new shoe has already been put into play across numerous global Tours, helping to support two DP World Tour victories, with Rasmus Neergaard-Petersen claiming his maiden win at the Australian Open in December, and Patrick Reed putting his faith in the fit and performance levels of Clone during his recent victory at the Hero Dubai Desert Classic.

The new Drive Pro Clone comes in both a spiked and spikeless model, and will be available at retail on February 6, with an RRP of £160/€200 (spiked) and £140/€180 (spikeless). The shoe will also be available in four colourways: Black/Anthracite/Metallic Gold; Distant Gray/Midnight Navy/Metallic Silver; White/White/Metallic Gun Metal; Stone/Gridiron Brown/Metallic Gun Metal.
