The company stands out due to its in-house design expertise, led by Alex Dee, a veteran golf shaft engineer with over 25 years’ experience, who previously headed up shaft design at Fujikura. Aretera’s design process tailors every shaft using advanced composites, creating products aimed at superior performance and durability.

This is the second generation of shaft lines to come from Aretera, the first being the Alpha One which was a US launch exclusive last year and a shaft that launched the name into the golf market.

Aretera now introduce the ΣC1, a premium wood shaft designed with cutting-edge CONTROL CENTR technology. The ΣC1 caters to golfers seeking a shaft that combines dynamic feel with remarkable stability and precision. With two profiles, blue and grey, and weight options ranging from 45 to 75 grams, the ΣC1 offers diverse options for performance preferences and playing styles.

Aretera have pushed the limits to design a shaft line with a compliant mid-section while simultaneously addressing erratic performance and stability issues often associated with similar shaft profiles.

Starting with reimagining the typical layup of a golf shaft and employing an advanced layered technique in the ΣC1 product line to unify plies responsible for resisting twist and bending throughout the wall thickness.

Advanced carbon fabrics further increase stability, especially near the tip, to reduce spin and enhance control, even on off-centre hits. This precise material placement in the ΣC1 results in a more consistent, forgiving experience, benefiting golfers of all skill levels. Aretera also prioritised ease for fitters with the ΣC1’s design. The shaft includes visual indicators to show torque and bending stiffness across the handle, midsection, and tip, giving fitters a clear, consistent understanding of each profile’s performance.
