https://tgigolf.com/my-tgi/price-guide/?brand=2FootJoy will continue its commitment to supporting TGI Partners in 2025 through a range of educations days and events highlighting the importance of wearing correctly fitted, performance footwear.
The brand is leading the way in the sector, having three full-time Product Specialists on the road since 2022, who have so far fit over 7,500 golfers across the UK and Ireland.
The team spend most of their time during the winter months conducting education workshops, helping PGA professionals feel more confident fitting golfers into the correct-sized golf shoe and discussing the different performance benefits of the various styles.
Chris Woodhouse, PGA Professional at Turnhouse Golf Club was one of the 200+ retailers who attended an FJ education workshop earlier this year and has praised the experience after noticing a boost in footwear sales.
“The learnings about how golf shoes can provide different levels of stability, traction and how they relate to a golfer’s performance has been eye opening,” said Woodhouse.
“Numerous golfers have come in after their first round with their new shoes and commented how stable they feel on the course.
“From a sales perspective, we have noticed shoe purchases have increased by 15% since the workshop now that we feel more comfortable fitting golfers and linking footwear with performance.”
When the FootJoy Product Specialists are not sharing their expertise at education days, they spend their time hosting shoe fitting events requested by retailers wanting to take advantage of FootJoy’s advanced fitting technology.
FJ’s FitLab offers the ultimate custom shoe fitting experience using the state-of-the-art Volumental scanner to identify the unique characteristics of golfers’ feet such as the length, width, arch and instep to help players find their shoe size in a model best suited to their game.
So far in 2025, around 450 golfers across the UK have taken the opportunity to be professionally fitted for footwear by an FJ Product Specialist, with 67% discovering they had been wearing the wrong size. This resulted in over 70% conversion from same-day sales.
Data collated by the brand also indicates that 30% of golfers require a shoe model with a fit other than the standard medium width. Offering up to three different width options in certain footwear models, FJ make sure every golfer has a shoe option that will guarantee to help them improve their performance on the golf course.
It is not just in the amateur game where a proper shoe fitting is a making a positive difference - Tour professionals worldwide are also recognising the performance benefits of wearing the correct golf shoe for their game.
So far in 2025, there have been wins for Laurie Canter (Bahrain Championship), Calum Hill (Joburg Open) and Sara Kouskova (Jabra Ladies Open & Tenerife Open), all of whom have recently spent time with an FJ Product Specialist and have seen immediate success.
The education and shoe fitting events are examples of the investment FootJoy is putting into the game to support PGA professionals, alongside providing the largest collection of tour-proven performance footwear in golf.
