Premium Brand’s Stylish Golf Shoes Proved Popular With Spectators At Dutch Tour Event

Spectators at last week’s KLM Open flocked to the Duca del Cosma retail store at The International course in Amsterdam in droves as the luxury Italian golf fashion brand saw its handcrafted new collection of golf shoes fly off the shelves.

As the Official Shoe Supplier to one of Europe’s most historic Tour events for the sixth time, Duca del Cosma ran its 100m² retail operation in a bustling area of the course to ensure the 40,000 strong Dutch crowd could trial the latest range of golf shoes, gloves and premium leather kilties, alongside walking shoes from the all-new Duca Walking brand.

“Between Thursday and Sunday, hundreds of spectators purchased pairs of our men’s and women’s shoes, with the DAVANTI and OLIVERA styles proving to be the most popular models,” said Duca del Cosma Chairman Frank van Wezel. “It’s always great to cheer on Team Duca and we were so proud of all their achievements as we celebrated another hugely successful KLM Open here in Holland,” he added.

Team Duca ambassador and local favourite Joost Luiten finished the week at six under par in T15, making him the highest ranked Dutch player in the field. Joost was seen wearing the striking DAVANTI shoe in the smart Marina colour across the entire week, while fellow Dutch Tour player Daan Huizing chose the ORLANDO pro spike design and secured a T38 place finish after a final round of 67 that included a spectacular hole-in-one of the par-3 4th hole.

Duca ambassador Aydan Verdonk, a 28-year-old aspiring Dutch Tour player, was offered a last-minute spot just 15 minutes before he teed off on home soil wearing a combination of the DAVANTI shoe in Green/Grey on Thursday and BERNARDO pro spike style on Friday.

Duca del Cosma was founded in Italy in 2004 by Baldovino Mattiazzo, who still designs the distinctive collections for men and women golfers. Since 2016, the company has been reinvigorated by Frank van Wezel and his wife Caroline to now see its shoes sold in more than 40 different countries worldwide. The global brand operates from four offices around the world – The Netherlands (HQ), the United States, United Kingdom and South Africa.
