Following the news of the theft of over £2 million of stock last weekend, Worldwide Golf Brands reports that business is back up and running, with minimal disruption to the vast majority of its customers.
“As we’ve picked through the aftermath of the break-in it looks like MacGregor package sets and hardware are the only product lines that will be significantly impacted,” commented Graeme Stevens, Managing Director of WWGB. “It’s a devastating loss for the business, and we’re working closely with Greater Manchester Police to find the culprits. The silver lining is that there has been minimal losses across our other brands, so for Stuburt, BIG MAX and Oscar Jacobson it’s business as usual.”
Existing orders of Oscar Jacobson, Stuburt or BIG MAX will be despatched with minimal delays, and despite the loss of all MacGregor package sets and a significant number of travel covers, there is some light at the end of the tunnel for MacGregor customers, as Graeme explains.
“We do still have some MacGregor travel covers and bags available, and we already have a shipment of package sets and clubs on the water. So we expect some stock through in 4 to 6 weeks, with full availability by mid-summer.
This has been a big blow for us, but the way the team has come together to assess the damage, clean up the warehouse and get us up and running has been amazing. I couldn’t be prouder of their response and just ask for a little patience from our customers as we get everything back on track.”
Any customers who would like to discuss their orders, please contact your sales representative or call the office direct. And anyone with any information about the break in can contact the team at WWGB on 0161 886 4010 or contact Greater Manchester Police by calling 101.
