Everyone involved with TGI Golf was sad to hear the news this week that Bill Symonds lost his long battle with cancer.
Bill and his father owned a club making and retail golf business on Tyneside for many years and when his father retired in the 1990s Bill began his selling career, during which time he worked as a rep for Adams in the north before becoming an agent.
Bill was one of the first agents to sell Srixon Golf Balls in the UK and also spent time promoting them on the European Tour.
His association with Srixon lasted for many years taking the brand from a start-up to being part of the team that made it the #2 brand in the UK and Europe. Bill also represented Oakley and many other brands during his time as an agent.
Bill finally lost his long battle with cancer last week after almost eight years of treatment.
He was never one to feel sorry for himself describing his illness as ‘It is what it is’ and lived a full and active life with his wife Muriel, their children and grandchildren right up until the end.
He will be sadly missed by his family and his many friends.
Bill's funeral will be held on Wednesday 18th October at 10.15am. It will be held at Mountsett Crematorium with the wake at The Owl & Otter.
