Gordon Stewart becomes TGI Golf Partnership Chairman

The TGI Golf Partnership enjoyed three successful days at The Golf Show with more than 75% of the group’s Partners coming through the doors.

Partners took the opportunity to visit the TGI Golf stand where they could meet with fellow Partners and receive information from TGI Golf staff about the numerous scheme in place to help them, such as the enewsletter programme, online print system and the new Five STEPS to Success initiative.

Partner service providers such as OKD insurance brokers, Mercedes-Benz and Golf Kings were also on hand to discuss the benefits they could bring to TGI Golf Partners.

Wednesday night saw the Partnership’s Annual General Meeting where Ian Muir stepped down as chairman having completed his two-year term, to be replaced by Cawder Golf Club Professional Gordon Stewart.

Gordon said: “I’d like to thank Ian for his high level of commitment to the group through his three year tenure. The role is demanding and time consuming but Ian has successfully led us through one of the most difficult and uncertain economic times the golf industry has had. Thanks to his guidance we have still managed to post record numbers.

“As a fellow board member I’ve seen the way he works and I hope to lean on his experience over the next few years.

“Back in 2001 as a director of Golf Ecosse I attended the birth of TGI and as a director of the group I have witnessed its substantial growth and to be asked to be chairman is a great honour and privilege.

“I aim to bring my own personality into the role and pass on the experiences I have gained through my career.

“These are challenging, but also exciting times – we are the TGI Golf Partnership and our togetherness and singularity is our strength. I look forward to even more success in the coming years.”
