Europe’s Most Important Trade Show and Education Event Takes Shape
Published: Thursday, 09th September 2010

With little over a month to go until The Golf Show opens its doors the most important and influential golf trade show and educational event in Europe is beginning to take shape with more than 50 exhibitors now confirmed.
The biggest names in golf will be lining up at the Harrogate International Centre from October 26-28 to show off the latest equipment technology, products and services to PGA professionals from across Europe.
World-renowned equipment brands including Callaway, Titleist, Ping, TaylorMade and Nike Golf have been joined by the leaders in apparel like Ashworth, Glenmuir, Oscar Jacobson, Tommy Hilfiger and Greg Norman to exhibit at the inaugural Golf Show, open to all of the PGA’s 6,000-plus members across Europe.
Visitors will also be able to see the latest products from electric trolley manufacturers such as Greenhill and PowaKaddy, while also being given a glimpse of how service providers such as Lucozade, Miller Brown and Huxley Golf can help their businesses.
John Davis, The Golf Show coordinator, said: “The support and interest from the golf industry has been phenomenal, we are very close to selling out of floor space. The show has really struck a chord with manufacturers and service suppliers alike. This is the first time in many years manufacturers have had the chance to exhibit to every PGA professionals under one roof in the UK.
Philip Kyle, Greenhill Managing Director, said: “The Golf Show gives us a fantastic opportunity to see all our key customers, the PGA Professionals, in one place, without the vast expense of travelling overseas. As the largest golf market in Europe it is great to finally see a show of this magnitude in the UK.”
The Golf Show 2010 is open to all PGA professionals and will give them the opportunity to amass a number of CPD points simply for coming to the show, and can gain further points by attending any of the numerous educational seminars.
To ensure the educational needs of PGA professionals are met, organisers of The Golf Show are giving delegates the chance to shape the education aspect of the show by letting them choose the speakers they would like to see.
Once registered - by visiting www.golftradeshow.co.uk - delegates are given the opportunity to rank a number of industry expert speakers in preference of the ones they think would be most beneficial to them.
As well as seminars there will also be a number of short 20-minute presentations from leading figures in the golf industry in the style of ‘Speakers’ Corner.’
Delegates will also have the opportunity to quiz the industry’s leading lights on coaching and retail in two special Question Time events to be held after the show has closed on the Tuesday and Wednesday night.
Leading coaches such as Scott Cranfield and Neil Plimmer will sit on the coaching panel, while experts such as TGI Golf Managing Director, Eddie Reid, Foremost CEO, Paul Hedges and successful retailer and PGA professional, Nicky Lumb, will sit on the retail panel.
PGA professionals wishing to put questions to the five-person panels can do so by visiting www.golftradeshow.co.uk and clicking on the ‘Ask the Experts’ section.
“The show is really starting to take shape now and the excitement is starting to build,” added Davis.
“More and more PGA Professionals are registering to attend the show each day, it really does promise to live up to its billing as Europe’s leading golf trade show and education event.”
