PGA Golf Professional - The Machrie Golf Links, Isle Of Islay

Everyday your backdrop will be an iconic Scottish championship links stretching over 7000 yards from the back tees. An original Willie Campbell design dating back to 1891 and redesigned in 2018 by David J. Russell to modern championship standards, this course is now designed to be played in all conditions.

The perfect links terrain is set on unique dunelands bordering on the magnificent Laggan Bay in Islay.

As PGA Professional you will be an integral part of the golf operations team at Another Place The Machrie, responsible for a range of golf instruction programs and offerings aimed at providing high quality golf instruction to all abilities.

What your days could look like:

• Create and implement a variety of golf instruction programs and offerings.
• Tee sheet processing - accurate processing of booking requests, check-ins and payments through golf management systems.
• Golf retail & storage - ensuring the upkeep and cleanliness of the golf shop. Inventory management and an understanding of brand and product knowledge.
• Golf events - support the management team in preparations and administration of golf events.
• Rental/equipment hire - ensure all equipment is clean, in good working order, stored correctly and set up as per Company SOPs.
• Outdoor services - maintain the cleanliness of outdoor golf areas, preparation of golf carts, ensuring the golf ball machine has a supply of clean golf balls, cleaning and collection of golf balls.
• Maintenance of locker rooms and driving range.

Job skills and requirements:

• PGA qualified.
• Trackman accreditation is preferred.
• Valid drivers license is preferred.
• A good general knowledge of golf.
• Excellent customer service skills.
• Good computer skills, including the use of Microsoft Office Suite.
• Prior experience in hotel, retail or customer service is preferred.
• Strong attention to detail and commitment to high-quality standards.
• Good time management and teamwork abilities.
• Ability to work under pressure.
• Ability to work on own initiative.
